古代の賢人に耳を傾けることにしよう。

古代の書バガバッド・ギーター(神の詩)第三章に入り込むことにしよう。
クシャトリヤ階級(武士階級)の王子アルジュナは尋ねる。こんな恐ろしい戦争に私を駆り立てるのですか。
神クリシュナーは答えます。
非難のうちどころのない汝に答えよう。
人間の本性は、望まないことでも行動に駆り立てられる。なんとなれば、喜んで思考は行動をするからだ。
地上の義務というものは欲望からなされるものではなく崇高な天の目的というものの遂行なのだ。
汝は割り当てられてある義務を遂行するのだ。
果実を得るのではなく名誉のためでもある。
かくして、天の世界からものを盗むのではなく十分の一税を祭壇に納めないといけません。
神と人間との共同事業、すなわち行為がおおくの牛と乳を現世であたえてくれる。
Arjuna. Dost thou impel me to this dreadful fight?
Krishna. I told thee, blameless Lord!
His nature’s law Compels him, even unwilling, into act;[For thought is act in fancy].
Such earthly duty do Free from desire, and thou shalt well perform Thy heavenly purpose.
Do thine allotted task!
Not seeking gain, such an one Is honourable.
Do work! Sacrifice! Increase and multiply with sacrifice!
